Going up to a complete stranger at an event, is hard work.

It’s hard to break the ice and it’s hard to work out whether the person you are connecting with, is somebody who will ultimately contribute to your network or will share common interests or goals.

One of the ways to get around these hurdles is to try and set-up conversations in advance.

This week, a group of us are attending the Suits & Sneakers event on 24 January (Mastering the Art of Disruption) at the Bowman building in Sandton and I want to try and make this process a bit easier. In my group, I have people in the education, funding, big data, asset management, investment and youth employment sectors.
